R.O.S.E Doll Show

I am so excited to be able to announce that I will be attending the R.O.S.E. doll Show in Layton Utah.  I live about 15 minutes from the convention center.  There will be so many wonderful Artists from around the world showing and selling their beautiful dolls.  I will be at table 20.  I will be sharing a table with my Daughter Mary Ropelato.  Mary will have some awesome new baby related sculpts to show.  2016 will be dedicated to Creating my Reborns...
Please save the date and attend if you can!!

My Amazon.com Store is now Open

Just waiting on some wool stuffing for my dolls, then I can go ahead and stock my shelves.
My new Amazon store is open.  I have one doll listed and waiting to list more.
My Sweet Lavender Children are for Adult Collectors only.
Standing at 15 inches these dolls are designed and created by me.
They are made of wool felt and will be stuffed with wool stuffing to give them
a beautiful natural feeling.
I draw and hand-paint the faces and although I may use the face on more than one doll,
you can rest assured that all of my dolls are One-of-a-Kind.
I use only the finest Tibetan Lambs wool for the artist created wigs.
Please check back often for more updates.
Thank you.
A work in progress...I still need to tweak the clothes.

Amazon Update

Well, I got my email from Amazon saying that it will be a couple of more weeks until I get my link to set up shop.  So I decided I would make more of my Bonnets and Booties Soft Sculptured Dolls to put in my shop.  I ordered my fabric and my weighting beads so I am all set.  I already have my Tibetan Lambs Wool and my paints.  The dolls will be similar to the one pictured.  I have drawn some more faces.  I think these dolls will be dressed in Vintage dresses from the 50's.  I will purchase the shoes and antique them.
I have had such blog neglect...I am going to try to get here more often and post updates.

Amazon Handmade

I am so excited!!  About four weeks ago I filled out an application form to sell on Amazon's new Handmade platform.   They said they were going to jury my creations and would get back with me in four weeks.  Well a couple of days ago I received an email from Amazon telling me that I had been accepted into their Art category.  I am so scared and yet stoked at the same time!! lol

It will be much like Etsy, only Amazon is being very strict as to how the items are made, and must be completely handmade.  This means that no 3rd parties can be used.

Well I am busy getting ready for this big change.  Amazon is making sure to have all of their ducks in a row.   It is hard waiting for the next phase of information.

I will keep updating when I hear anything from them.  This is going to be so exciting and I can't wait!

XOXO
Til next time!!

My New Logo

Hi everyone!!

I just wanted to let you all know that I have a new Logo for my Doll Business.  I created it at LogoGarden.   It is free but you can also get a logo with a transparent background.
 I decided to get both.

I entered my new Logo in a contest they are holding, which runs to the 21st of May.
I would love it if you would go and vote for me.

I have linked the Logo on the left hand side of the blog to the voting page.
I think you have to be logged into Facebook and also leave a comment before it will count.

Making the Logo was such fun!  I think I may go and make another one...lol

New for 2015 "Whispering Children"

Well after two bouts with the flu in one month and some family issues, my little Whispering Children have finally arrived... although she is only the prototype.  I have plenty more coming.

It was such a fun journey sculpting and designing this adorable little doll.  I used to make this type of doll when I was first starting out in my doll making career.  I have learned many things along the way and have incorporated them into this doll.

Here is an at a glance of how these dolls are created.

11 inches
One-of-a-Kind
Hand-sculpted
Hand painted features
Polymer Clay
Textile body
Weighted
Each doll is made entirely by myself
Costumes are designed and created by me
Wigs are Artist created
Jointed at the head and hips
Fabrics are imported
Vintage lace and Trim
Hand-crafted hang tags
Initialed and dated

I will update when each doll is completed, but the line of
"Whispering Children"
won't be available for purchase until the end of May.

For more pictures please visit my new updated website.

We are Published

My daughter (Mary Ropelato) and I were featured in the Spring issue of Art Doll Quarterly. The challenge Theme was Mothers and Daughters...so she sculpted the mother and I sculpted the daughter. We chose Morticia and Wednesday from the Addams Family. It was so much fun to do this piece with my daughter, she is so very talented, and it was an honor to work with her!!
